Welcome
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in education at St Francis Xavier College. This is a school which offers something very special to its students and their families. Your sons and daughters, on passing through our gates, will find themselves within a secure environment which both challenges them and supports them to be their best by developing their talents to the full.
Our students sense that they are part of a community where they feel they belong, where justice, respect and learning - as witnessed through our Catholic faith - are the ideals by which we live and teach. This is our College as owned by the parish communities and we are keen for all to feel this ownership. Our students are offered a full range of academic and sporting opportunities.
We also offer our students leadership, public speaking and performing arts programs where, as teachers, we watch in awe as our students develop and grow into mature young men and women - developing the skills that will be essential in their rapidly changing world.
Our College was established at the direction of Bishop Fox of the Sale Diocese in 1978 to provide urgently needed Catholic education that was entirely lacking in the Berwick-Pakenham area. Now that the demands on our College are rapidly increasing, we are faced with the greatest and most exciting challenge since the establishment of our school.
Our original Beaconsfield campus is the site of the senior campus, accommodating all our students in Years 10-12, while students in Years 7-9 are accommodated on our new campus in Berwick.
St. Francis Xavier College is an exciting place to be! We have outstanding facilities and innovative programmes, committed staff and a positive vision for the future. I hope as you tour our website, you will gain the same impression.
Mr Paul Desmond
