Vision Statement
St Francis Xavier College is a Catholic community that is educative
and supportive. We have a clear purpose: the development of a person of
competence, conscience and compassion formed in the Christian tradition;
one who is guided by a sense of hope and self-belief and who will be of
service in the world. We recognize God’s presence in our lives by
celebrating and pursuing personal excellence and by living courageously
with optimism and respect for all.
College Crest
The Eagle
Is the symbol of the Evangelist - 'spreading the good news'.
The Fish
This represents the secret symbol used by early persecuted
Christians, as a password. To those non-Christians or non-members,
this symbol was just a scribble with no significance.
The Stars
Are representing the Southern Cross on a cross saying that
Jesus and his teaching are for all.
The College Motto
Via Veritas et Vita - The Way, The Truth and The Life - comes
from the Gospel of St. John, 14, v. 6 and reflects our commitment as a Christian community to the teachings of Christ.
