Dear Parents/Guardians

Your son or daughter is now more than half way through their Year 9 education and it is time for them to consider their subject choices for Year 10.  In order to help make this process as informative and helpful as possible, the 2018 Year 10 Parent Subject Information Evening is being held on Wednesday 19 July at the Beaconsfield Campus Hall beginning at 7.00pm.  Parents and guardians of all current Year 9 students are invited to attend this information evening in order to be informed about the subjects offered in Year 10.    Please note that a separate information assembly will be held for students prior to the Parent Subject Information Evening.

The presentation will outline the nature of the Year 10 curriculum program and explain the study of compulsory and elective subjects at this level.  Details about the opportunity to apply for accelerated studies at the VCE level in Year 10 will also be outlined at the information evening.  A demonstration of how to access the online 2018 Year 10 Curriculum Manual will take place together with details about the subject selection process.

Following the Subject Information Evening, your son or daughter will need to complete a subject selection preference form for 2018 by no later than Friday 28 July.   Application forms for accelerated VCE studies will also be due on this date.  Meetings with teachers in relation to VCE study applications will take place on 2 August and all Year 9 students will meet with a teacher regarding their subject preferences during the week of 7 August when preferences will be entered online.

I look forward to meeting you on Wednesday 19 July at 7.00pm at Beaconsfield Campus in the Hall.

Yours sincerely
